Teacher Librarians are expected to meet all the same standards as classroom teachers. There are no special categories for specialist teachers and the Teacher Librarian is no exception. This may cause some teacher librarians some angst as they very often do not have timetabled classes and therefore may not feel that they cannot be expected to meet some of the standards.

my English colleagues are wondering what novels are being taught at Year 8. We have been teaching "Holes" for a while, but it seems that many of our primary feeder schools are now teaching it. I would be thrilled to hear from anyone. Many thanks, Judith Mitchell at Bellarine SC.
Some teachers have asked me to find out if there are any schools in the Geelong region who could recommend some novels that have been used successfully with VCAL literacy students. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
